Similarly, keep supplies on hand to prepare the farm for a disaster. If possible, keep the supplies in a place that is safe from high winds and flooding. Here's a basic list suited ot all types of operations:

Sandbags, and plastic sheeting in case of flood

Wire and ropes

Lumber and plywood

Extra fuel for vehicles, stored in a location not likely to be affected by the disaster

Hand tools

Fire extinguisher

A supply of food to feed the livestock, if possible.
